User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 Build ID: 20130219173941 Steps to reproduce: I clicked on the url http://wiki.openoffice.org/w/images/a/a0/0313CG-KeyboardShortcuts.pdf Actual results: Instead to open the download dialogue to save the PDF file as usual (my personal Firefox settings), my fresh Firefox 19 decided to show me for the first time your new technology PDF.js that is unable to display correctly at least this PDF. All the glyphs are wrong! Expected results: 1) A good software engineering must not change user settings. 2) Especially when this feature doesn't work at all. 3) Get the fact your PDF engine based on wonderful Javascript perform nothing in comparison to libraries like Poppler / Mupdf actually. So why activates it by default ??? Instead to promote Firefox, you invite me to look elsewhere ...

Interestingly, pdf.js displays this document very nicely for me.
Summary: New feature PDF.js and good software engineering → pdf.js doesn't render document correctly

Looks good for me too. Could you run http://mzl.la/pdfjs-test ? If "@font-face is supported/enabled" fails, please check the preferences -> content -> fonts -> advanced... -> allows pages to choose the fonts setting, or create a fresh profile.

Yes it could be related to a disabled "allows pages to choose the fonts setting".

The document is not rendered correctly. Some italics look very misaligned to me (see attached screenshot).

See the "p" and "ft"
The linked pdf looks good even with disabled "allows pages to choose the fonts setting" on Firefox 74.0.
The bug seems to be fixed.
