6/7 build

(I may have also seen this in earlier recent builds, but I can't prove it.)

The throbber runs on long after the window is all updated and I've started
working messages. Is it possible that it's chewing on one of my multiple
accounts with a saved password? If so, perhaps that could happen "in the
background" if nothing in that account is selected so the throbber can be
stopped when expected.
yeah, yeah. 6/7 BRANCH build. nom catfood since throbber issues traditionally
rate highly.

Are you sure this a mailNews issues as marked?

I am seein this issue on the browser also. I don't think this is the right
component, but don't feel comfortable reassigning.

Anyone else want to comment?
I get this a lot. If the POP server cannot be reached (temporarily) the Mail
News window throbs. Even after the mail is downloaded, the throbbing remains,
and it seems to bring everything to a halt. I have to close Mozilla!

I would much prefer that there was NO throbbing.
Can see this on build 2002061108 - WinXP.

I have 4 pop accounts and 1 imap account.

Cannot see this on branch build, though.
WFM on Mozilla 1.3. I think we should close this.
I am now seeing this with 1.4b. I've three IMAP and one POP account. The
throbber runs non-stop on the first IMAP account but works correctly on the
three other accounts. Throbber is non-stop only if a msg. in the INBOX is
selected. Selecting a message in any other folder works ok.

Also, if I create a temp. IMAP folder on the first account and then move all
INBOX msgs. to it the throbber will then stop. Moving msgs. back from the temp.
folder to inbox, the throbber remains stopped. Selecting a msg. in the INBOX
cause the throbber to once again go non-stop.

Dunno if it is germain or not, but all IMAP accounts have Server
Settings->Advanced "IMAP server directory" set to "mail/".

The new 1.7.3 behaves much better. I use POP3 and the following works for me:
- if the pop server cannot be found, there appears a dialog saying so and the
throbbing stops. (Bug 197655)
- if we are connected to the server (even though the server is not responding
for a while), pressing stop stops the throbber.

This nice behaviour appeared only recently and I am quite happy :)

Do we have other problems here?
