From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:0.9.1) Gecko/20010607 BuildID: 2001060703 The Open File dialog does not work, although the Choose File dialog (accessed from the Open Web Location dialog) does. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select Open File from the File menu. 2. Browse to an HTML file. 3. Click Open. Actual Results: Nothing. Expected Results: The selected HTML file should have been opened. This happens for images, as well.
Have seen a variant of this bug on 0.9.1 Linux gcc-2.95 build: 1) Get a http://x.y.z/file.html with a <A HREF="file:///a/b/c/local.html">local</A> link (on your own machine, own local.html, readable for anyone) 2) Click on the link --> nothing happens 3) enter the same link into the location bar --> contents appears
grabow@darkstar.inka.de: that is _NOT_ a bug. Nor is it this bug. Seriously it's a security feature. anyways, i'm sending this bug to xpappsgui features

wfm using 2001.06.11.09 trunk bits and 2001.06.07.13 branch bits on winnt [commercial], following Jon's steps. Jon, is this still a problem for you, ie, with a more recent build?
