Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0
Build ID: 20130215130331
Steps to reproduce:
browsing websites such as amazon.com with plenty of links
Actual results:
fonts displaying all clickable links gets moired (such as having wrongly colored pixels rows) when the mouse cursor hovers it. it makes the text very difficult to read.
Expected results:
I've never seen this issue before (using firefox from the very begining) - no change in my current environment
Please, attach a screenshot of what you're seeing.
Could you try with HWA disabled, please.
(see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-response-disable-hardware-acceleration restart FF to apply)

OK, the problem doesn't occur anymore with HWA disabled.

Did you install recently the Win 7 update KB2670838 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2670838/)? (check in Windows Update)
If yes, have the issue appeared at this moment?

Yes, KB2670838 has been installed via windows update, and the display issue has appeared since (this was the only patch installed recently, so it quite correlates)
do you want I try to deinstall it to ensure?

No, it's OK (you can test yourself to be sure if you want), especially because disabling HWA worked as temporary workaround. I close it as dupe of bug 812695, feel free to reopen it if the issue is still here after the fix for 812695.
