Steps to reproduce:

After using firefox for a long time (a few hours) without restart, if opening and closing a lot of tabs, and continously saving images within this time, firefox stops downloading the files.


Actual results:

After this peroid, new downloads simply not being added to the download queue. I click to save file, i specify the folder to download, then the download does not starts, the files does not appears in the internal downloader, and the fie does not being downloaded at all. If i restart the software, the bug goes away for another few hours.


Expected results:

Downloading mechanism should work normally. 

tested and affected:
firefox 18.0 (17.0 was broken too) 64 bit
i use suse linux 12.2 64 bit

now i have 22.0 and still have the bug. 

i dont know if i will have the ability to test the nightly on this computer, since i need stable and secure internet browsing for work
25.0. bug still exist.
26.0 - bug still exist.
version 32.0.3 - bug still exist.
version 33.0 - bug is now different. 

it is now changed a bit in some ways.

if i try to download the image by rightclicking on it, with some images (sometimes), the download question does not appears. 

however, if i use the file/save as menu, it works, and its able to perform the download.
