Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.5 i686; en-US; rv:0.9.1) Gecko/20010607
BuildID: 2001060713

When I perform a fresh installation of Mozilla (i.e., after deleting the
previous one), I have to install the Java plugin. After installing the plugin,
I shut down the browser and try to restart it, only to get a message dialog
saying "Waiting for previous installation to complete. Must restart.".

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Delete previous Mozilla installation.
2. Run installer (from talkback build) as root.
3. Accept all defaults.
4. Let browser come up after installation.
5. Go to website with Java applet (http://javasoft.com).
6. Click "OK" when prompted to download Java plugin.
7. Let installation complete.
8. Shut down browser.
9. Try to start browser (as root or non-priveleged user).

Actual Results: Message dialog appears saying something like "Waiting for
previous installation to complete. Must restart."

Expected Results: At this point, Mozilla should have started normally with the
ability to run Java applets.
The exact message is "The program must close to allow a previous installation attempt to complete. Please restart."

Also, there is, at this point, a process called "mozilla-bin" that pegs the CPU. This continues to occur until the "OK" button is clicked on the message dialog.
