Steps to reproduce:

I mouseover a link with a mouseover box and the box flashes and disappears, even though I'm still mousing over the link.  A fresh install corrected the problem, but then Firefox updated today and it doesn't work again.


Actual results:

I mouseover a link with a mouseover box and the box flashes and disappears, even though I'm still mousing over the link.


Expected results:

Link moused over should have had the mouseover box pop up and remain until I stopped mousing over.

Try with a new profile, please (don't import anything, disable plugin like McAfee):

In addition, try in safe mode:

damibe77, Thanks for the bug report! I renamed your bug to clarify what the issue is. The box that appears when you mouse over particular page elements is usually called a tooltip. 

Does this happen with all links? If it is only on particular pages, can you give an example url where the problem happens?

I also have this problem, on 64-bit Win7, 32-bit FF20.0.1

It exists on all sites, UI elements and bookmarks, even in safe mode.

It seems to relate to Aero, as using the Windows 7 Basic theme causes tooltips to behave normally.

On switching back to Aero, XKCD's tooltip functioned correctly for a minute or so, but UI/bookmark tooltips immediately reverted to disappearing near instantly, followed by XKCD's tooltip.

Tooltips are now working in Aero, after updating (Nvidia) graphics drivers.
