Details
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.1) Gecko/20010607
BuildID: 20010517
Mozilla 0.9 would not recognise a Mail file copied from another machine. Sorry I
don't have build ID, but trashed it. Build ID used is PROBABLY WRONG.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Connect Powerbook to Beige G3
2.Copy All Mozilla folders to laptop, including Registry file in Preferences
3.Open Mozilla on Powerbook and find that it does not see the Bookmarks or Mail
that was copied over.
Actual Results: I also tried deleting the Mozilla folder and reinstalling it;
the new install could not find the user folder either. Tried replacing the
Netscape User folder with the Mozilla User folder, but all that did was keep it
from trying to import my old settings. Tried letting it set up an identically
named folder, and then switching files (Bookmarks were recognised with this
move). It just could not "see" the mail I had copied over. I became convinced
that Mozilla was using some invisible files somewhere or had a Microsoft-like
Registry issue, and I felt I would be unable to depend on synching my mail and
being able to read it.
Expected Results: Read the dragged Mail folder, since it was in the right place.
One possible idea is that I have 9.0.4 on my Tower and 8.6 on my Powerbook.
Don't know if that would make a difference or not.
In the end I dragged the Mail and Bookmarks out of the Mozilla folder and into
the Netscape Users folder and NC 4.76 recognised the Mail and Bookmarks, so I'm
back to using NC for Mail for the time-being.

On Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko 2001060808
deinstalling mozilla and installing a new build works as expected
reconizing the profile (folders,mail accounts,messages,bookmarks),
poster please, download a current build and try out, if you download the
folders from the other machine by ftp be sure to get them in binary mode.

WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.2+) Gecko/20010710,
deleting the old mozilla and installing a new one doesn't affect the profiles,
the new build just works with all the options of the older profile

Carl, you probably have different paths in your prefs.js, too. If you adjust
those paths, and this still doesn't work, re-open.
verified wfm.
