85004 - preference page sometimes refuses to close

preferences page (edit->preferences) refuses to close sometimes.  i press ok but
nothing happens.  so far i have had two reproducable occurences: when changing
from the classic to the modern theme, and when disabling saving data from
webforms and disabling saving passwords.  i'll try to do a bit more testing but
i have finals.

confirmed win98 build:2001060820

Usually, when this happens, errors appear in the javasacript console. When
changing themes, the errors listed are:
