Thanks, Matej!

#1 I wonder if we can create greater urgency with the first part of the sentence: It's almost time to get your flick in...

Maybe something more dramatic like "time is running out"on your chance to qualify for the Grand Prize and People's Choice Award.

#2 Can we make this one a little stronger at the top? I'm also worried that it doesn't explain what the People's Choice award is and why they should vote for it and who should they vote for...

I'm wondering if we can add more depth and more excitement?
#1 — No problem. Easy to dial up the urgency:

Enter by July 31

Time is running out! Get your flick in soon to qualify for the Grand Prize and People's Choice Awards.

Submit your flick today »

#2 — I think in this case we have to consider the audience. I agree that we should tell people who are submitting what they can win, but I don't think someone voting really cares that much. It's more about having a say and choosing a favorite, which people love to do. I also think the name of the award is pretty self explanatory. Here's an alternate version that rearranges things a bit to highlight the deadline:

Don't miss your chance

August 31 is the last day to choose your favorite flicks in the People's Choice Awards.

Hey Matej!

Thanks. I like both of these. If you're good I'm good.
Good? I'm great! ;)
hah. Let it be known and so it shall be.
See you next week when you come to SF.
Thanks Matej. you rock, as usual.
lets move forward to design!
I'm on the case now! Should have something to show shortly.

Hey Matt,

Other than removing the winners badges, I don't have anything else add. Aug 31 promo is good.

July 31 promo would need new elements once we remove the PCA and Grand Prize badges.

Please let me know what you think.

Matt,

Thank you. These are both good to go.

Arcadio
Great!, here are the PSDs:

Hi all
Taking over from Arcadio. I realize there have already done a lot of carousel promos but we need a few additional ones to close the loop. I will be following up on the other carousel bugs as needed. Thanks for your help so far and to come!

BATCH 3

#! May 29 Early Entry Award Deadline
Details: Submit your film in time for the second round of the Early Entry Award on May 29. You could win $1,000 and qualify for the Grand Prize final.
CTA: Submit your flick [link to submit process]

#2 July 3 Early Entry Award Deadline
Details: Submit your film in time for the third and final round of the Early Entry Award on July 3. You could win $1,000 and qualify for the Grand Prize final.
CTA: Submit your flick [link to submit process]

--
I was hoping we could reuse the July 31st deadline promo as a template for these two in order to minimize work. The only thing I would really change is the headline

Matej: looking at the July 31st promo and think "Enter by May 29" would sound a bit too definitive here and lead participants to think this is a final deadline vs an Early Entry. Maybe something as simple as "May 29 Early Entry Award" could work here?

I wonder if we could do something that doesn't sound as final, but still has some urgency. Here's what I'm thinking:

Early entry deadline: May 29

Submit your flick by May 29 to qualify for our second Early Entry Award. You could win $1,000 and automatically qualify for the Grand Prize.

Enter today »

Early entry deadline: July 3

Submit your flick by July 3 to qualify for our final Early Entry Award. You could win $1,000 and automatically qualify for the Grand Prize.

Thanks Matej. Looks good. Both work for me.
Hey Matt, any idea when we can hope to see something?
Hi Greg, I'm hoping to have something to show later today or tomorrow. I've been set back a couple of days due to the flu. But these are definitely on my radar and I hope to have them wrapped up soon.

Thanks,
Matt
Thanks Matt. I hope you're feeling better.

Thanks Greg, finally on the mend, sorry for such a delay on these, the flu put quite a wrench into my schedule last week. I've attached a couple of versions for you. Each one has an alternative similar to the other, so I was thinking we could either go with the same look for each date or different looks for each date. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Matt
Thanks Matt. Looks great.

I recommend using the same style for both deadlines. This way we are consistent and it's also less work on dev's end.

I personally like FF_Deadlines_July3a_carousel and FF_Deadlines_May29a_carousel better, but I worry the way the pictures are placed there might not leave a ton of space for copy in "longer" languages such as German of French. So for the sake of l10n, I recommend going with FF_Deadlines_July3_carousel and FF_Deadlines_May29_carousel.

It would be great to add the white clock and calendar icons though as they adds a convenient sense of urgency, as well as welcome texture.

Thanks Greg. I've updated the 'a' versions to allow for a little more breathing room for l10n. Felt that this look is more consistent with the previous rounds as well. Please let me know if you're good with this, and I can provide a link to the PSDs.

Thanks,
Matt
Ditto here. Nice work, Matt.

Reopening this one too. Sorry. I'd like to bring the People's Choice Award Voting Deadline back on the table.

I actually think Matej's initial headline in comment 2 was much clearer than the final one. The latter doesn't make it clear to me which audience it is addressing, nor what the ask is. I think Choose your favorites, or something similar would do a better job at prompting everyone to vote.

What do you think?

I'm good with the copy in comment 2 if everyone else is.

Hi all
Here is the last batch for this category. We're almost there! Thanks for your help.

BATCH 4

#1 - Announcement teaser
Details: Final results will be announced at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12. In the meantime, discover who won the Early Entry Awards.
CTA: View the Early Entry Award winners [will redirect to winners page]

Note: although the copy and CTA mentions the Early Entry Award, the main information here is the TIFF teaser. We want people to know when the results will be announced. The reference to the Early Entry winners is only there so this promo redirects somewhere and this felt like a logical destination. The visual should emphasize the official announcement at TIFF. I suggest we use their logo ( https://basecamp.com/1897137/projects/1609978-firefox-flicks/uploads/6733785) and pictures from last year's award ceremony (step & repeat etc.).

#2 - We have winners!
Details: Thanks for participating! Flicks 2013 is now closed and results have been announced.
CTA: Watch the winning entries [redirects to winners page]

Note: we could base creative on FF_earlyEntry_Apr3_carousel.psd. If there are ways to make it even more festive (confetti?), even better!
Status: RESOLVED → REOPENED
Resolution: FIXED → ---
Hey Greg, when do you need these by?
A fair question!

The first one is pretty time-sensitive. Although it is not urgent, it would make sense to have it up and running on August 1 when voting starts. So it would be great to have the copy by EOD Friday.

The second one isn't going live until mid-september so there's no rush here but I though it might be more efficient to do them together to save time. If you're in a crunch, this one can wait.

Thanks!
Sounds good, Greg. What do you think of the following?

[#1 - Announcement teaser]

Winners announced Sept. 12

We're gearing up to present the final results at the Toronto International Film Festival. Get ready by watching our latest Early Entry Award winners.

[#2 - We have winners!]

Nothing to add. It's just great1 Thanks Matej.

Mat, over to you.
Thanks guys, I will be working on this today, hopefully have something to show soon!

Let me know what you guys think of something like this. Overall pretty simple and sticking with the consistent look. The photos used aren't of TIFF specifically, do we have any previous TIFF photos that could be used for this? Or can we get away with keeping it generic?
Attached image FF_earlyEntry_weHaveWinners_carousel (obsolete) —
Greg, I've taken your suggestion to work in some confetti and base this one off of the 'Apr3' layout. The confetti makes use of the Flicks colours as well as the grid/square shape theme. I have left the winning flick thumbnail as FPO, I figured that this can be replaced with the winning entry? Please let me know what you think of this look.

This looks good to me, but there's a rogue "t" at the end of the CTA.

The copy and CTA in this one are wrong. It should be:

Congratulations to our winners

The votes are in and we're excited to present the winners of Firefox Flicks 2013. Thanks to everyone who entered!

Thanks Matt, but the CTA should say "flicks" instead of "entries."
Sorry about that Matej, this version is updated with the proper copy.

I was OOTO on Friday and just saw this. It looks good to me. Thanks!
Mat, if you can post the PSDs when you have a minute that would be great. I need to send this to dev! Thank you all!
Thanks you guys.

These two were the last of their category, closing this bug for good.

I have 3 or 4 more promos coming (event recaps, winner presentation and the site's EOL) and that will be the end of it. I will update the according bugs when we're ready to start.
