Attachment: Directors Cuts Sample

Hey Guys, 
Just a quick note here, that we can use the same style of promo for the winners that we've used in the Directors Cuts and Flicks Trailers carousel promos. 

The ones where we show a clip of the winning video that is clickable and playable. 

We want to be able to 
- play the winning video off the promo in a light box
- link to the blog post that highlights the winning videos

Good question. We're still doing the BAFICI Winners promo (it's our first Early Entry Award). 

But we did scrap the Catch Flicks at BAFICI promo bc we don't have too much happening on the ground in Buenos Aires.

Hey Matej, 

There was a last minute decision made today (after you had sent these) to re-name and re-schedule the Early Entry Awards. Long story short, we decided to detach the EEAs from the film festival sponsorships. 

The new deadline dates of the awards:
- April 3 (as already happened)
- May 29 Early Entry Award
- July 3 Early Entry Award

That being said, can we make the following adjustment:
- Remove film festival names from promos
- refer to the new dates instead of the festival name

Now that they are not attached to the film festivals, how should we refer to the EEA? Call them by the deadline name (May 29 Early Entry Award)?

Matej...you are absolutely correct. 

What happened is that some of the film festivals we were trying to partner fell through. These festivals would have been earlier in the year May/June rather than late July.

So what we ended up with was Early Entry Awards with deadlines that were actually very late in the campaign, thus not really an incentive to participate early. 

Greg, very smartly, pointed this out yesterday and KCB agreed so we're adjusting (in midstream) but we're going to announce it through social, the carousel on the site and possibly email (if that works out).

That being said: these work.  I'll be back to this bug shortly with final winners once I have one more set of votes.

This is really good! I don't think we're ready with the winners badge so please remove the badge. This means we would need a way to identify the video in the clip as the 1st place winner (they win $$ and entry in grand prize finalists).

Hey Matt,
The April 3 carousel looks super cool. I like the treatment you designed for the winners promo. 

Do you think this treatment will be the same for the May 29 and July 3 promos? I'm asking, because if the answer is "yes", I think we can give the PSD files to the dev team this week and ask them to drop in the winning video's thumbnail once the winners are announced. 

This would: get these promos off your plate and let the dev program the carousels for these events ahead of time.

Thanks Arcadio! Glad you're liking it.  I feel that it makes sense to keep the same treatment for consistency. Since there will be a different thumbnail image for each date, it will give it enough uniqueness.
