Description

Bug 841495 is adding code that will generate tab thumbnails by loading sites in a background window with cookies disabled. This will let us enable thumbnails for pages where we currently disable them for privacy/security reasons. We should make use of this code in Metro Firefox once it lands.

Whiteboard: [waiting on bug 841495]
When trying to use BackgroundPageThumbs in metro with OMTC enabled an null reference was happening at https://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/gfx/layers/composite/AsyncCompositionManager.cpp#51

As discussed with Jimm on IRC, BackgroundPageThumbs uses a hidden window which is not fully implemented in metro yet. See http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/widget/windows/winrt/MetroWidget.cpp#220
