For now, this is just a wireframe for a straight-up warning (AND NOT a "warn AND allow the user to directly enter the volume control and adjust setting"). It may take the form of a notification that is dismissed, an icon, or other. Product has questions out to LG to clarify if the behavior needs to be a one-time, every time, or variable warning, and to provide reference to the legal requirement this feature needs to serve. This bug will be updated when we have those answer. This UX will provide guidance but must also leave it up to the hardware to apply, since volume thresholds vary so much by hardware. Possible solutions Casey mentioned: Android 9/10ths volume reached (have prior art); also some precedence in Settings (adjust max volume).
This refers to row 3 on the UX tab of the LG 19 spreadsheet.
Whiteboard: u=user c=System → u=user c=System s=tribe
Whiteboard: u=user c=System s=tribe → u=user c=System p=3 s=tribe
Per Sri, we no longer need to do this work for LG, as this is "only an EU requirement." See LG 19 spreadsheet for details and comments.
