Since Firefox now support the notification API it should work on Gmail. It is not working for now. I have the impression this is a tech evangelism issue. Is this a bug in Firefox or in Gmail?

Gmail uses webkitNotification, so until they update the page to use the web standard notifications you will have to use a compatibility shim.

Is this really supposed to be RESO INVAL? It's a Tech Evang, and someone needs to contact Google. Until then, this bug is not INVAL as this is clearly due to usage of non-standard APIs.

How is this invalid? This is Tech evangelism. Cork could you please explain? 

What should be the first step to contact someone on the Google side?

Can you please retest? I remember being asked by Gmail if I want to enable notifications which means this bug is fixed.
