If you want to have the newest message at the top and also a threaded view,
Mozilla always changes it to 'newest message at the bottom'! :-(

If you click again on the "thread column" to the left of the columns field. It
will sort by date.
Marking INVALID.

NO, this bug is *not* invalid because it should be possible to keep the threaded
view AND have the newest threads on top!
see the extensive discussion in bug 72493 and particularly the reference to
http://www.jwz.org/doc/threading.html, look at items 6 and 7:
6. "Now you're done threading!" (threaded or not - ONE STEP)
7. "Now, sort the siblings" (date, sender, subject, etc. - ANOTHER STEP)
It is abundantly clear that threading and sorting (date, sender, etc) are two
completely separate steps in the process - locically, and therefore should be
UI-wise too.
For this reason (and because it's more intuitive) I strongly suggest that one
should be able to click on the thread header and the date/subject/sender headers
*INDEPENDANTLY* of each other. You're either threaded or unthreaded *AND* you
can sort the other collumns.
This bug should be *dependant* on bug 72493.

Peter, you are right: The bugf is still there!
Håkan, I am not since yesterday using Netscape / Mozilla
products. Sorry for saying that but I think it is important
for using NEWS and MAIL in a business environment!

BTW: If I not have found that I think other users also
would not find that - so then it is a help bug =:-)

Also the view isn't moved to top of list (when sorted ascending by date), so the
most recent messages aren't displayed immediately.
