Begat from Henrik's comments in bug 848649, we'd like to completely update the /templates and readme, beyond the changes to them which occurred in that bug.

I'm happy to be assigned and make the changes, along with direction if there is content to be added. Or perhaps it will be more suitable for someone like Henrik who will also innately know the final desired appearance, content, and new functionality.
