Details
After bug 769178 has been fixed, we now have the possibility to add certificates exceptions. This is only feasible in the Browser app. Thus, if for any reason, a bookmarked application redirects you to https with unknown certificate, you will get a false notification of inaccessible application (error message stating that you need network connectivity).
If you are brave enough, you will be able to noticed that the error message allowing certificate exception is correctly displayed, and that the intersticial error message about the application needing connectivity is coming right after, thus avoiding to accept the certificate.
There is no easy way to reproduce it as is, since you will have already accepted the certificate before creating the bookmark. However, this gets easily triggered when:
- backup chrome and gaia indexedDB
- reset-gaia
- restore chrome and gaia indexedDB
This way, the certificate exception is not in the gaia profile anymore, thus when you load your bookmark, kaboom. An example website would be https://linuxfr.org
