User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Build ID: 20130409194949
Steps to reproduce:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Steps to reproduce:
1) Make sure the downloads button (newly introduced in FF 20) is placed on the toolbar
2) Download a file (wait for it to finish)
3) Press the downloads button and see a list of your downloads
4) Right click this list of downloads prompting the context menu
5) Left-click "Clear List" (notice that your downloads list extending from the button has indeed been cleared)
6) Press CTRL + j to open the download manager
7) Notice your download history has not been removed
Actual results:
When selecting the "clear list" context menu option from the downloads button (recent downloads required) on the toolbar Firefox will continue to clear the downloads extending from the download tool bar pop up. However, it will not clear your download history from the download manager.
Expected results:
I think the "Clear list" context menu item should clear the download history as well. I initially suspected this was the intended use as there is also a "Remove from History" for individual items that does just that.
Are you using Firefox in private browsing mode? If yes, it's a dupe of bug 842871.
Flags: needinfo?(vpmry)
No, I am not using Firefox in private browsing mode. I have been able to reproduce this issue on several computers running at least Firefox v. 20.
If there is any other information I can provide that might be helpful please let me know.

"Clear List" option, clears only the downloads from your Downloads Panel (by design).
To clear all your downloads you will have to either click on the Clear Downloads button located in the Library window under the Downloads section or, while in the Library window - right click on any download and select "Clear Downloads".
