User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 Build ID: 20130409194949 Steps to reproduce: It appears Firefox may be ignoring embedded profiles for some images. See the attached example ( Red tulip by Yuri Levchenko from http://www.flickr.com/photos/i8ipod/8659145906/ ). The photo has an sRGB profile embedded. Actual results: However when viewed in Firefox the red in the image is clearly outside the sRGB gamut and vastly different than it appears in Photoshop. I'm using a calibrated, wide-gamut monitor. Expected results: The image should be displayed using its embedded sRGB profile, as it appears when opened in Photoshop. Firefox respects the embedded profiles in other images. See the two attached samples which I created. The other examples are not mine, so I'm not sure how they were created.
Component: Untriaged → GFX: Color Management
Product: Firefox → Core
Changing the preference gfx.color_management.mode from the default, 2 (Enable color management for tagged graphics only) to 1 (Enable color management for rendered graphics) fixes this issue. However the images in question *do* include embedded tags. So basically Firefox in the default mode (2) is not using the embedded profiles in some tagged images.
I don't have the technical knowledge to dive too deeply into this, but it's possible this is a dupe of Bug 663212.
