I've gotten used to a flow where I have a few sites pinned on about:home that I use a lot. I read one, then close the tab which opens about:home so I can open the next. Because we're re-inflating about:home nowadays, showing the new tab takes longer than it used to, making Fennec feel slow.

I think we need to cache the top sites list somewhere in order to show it quickly (also for the awesomescreen). Then we can refresh the cursor in the background.
