User case:

* John uses his phone to listen music on the street.
* He is listening to a song and wants to skip to the next.
* He has to take the phone off the pocket.
* Unlock.
* Tap next.
* Lock the phone.
* Put it again on his pocket.

Ideally:

* John uses his phone to listen music on the street.
* He is listening to a song and wants to skip to the next.
* Without taking the phone off the pocket, he holds volume up for 2 seconds and the song is skipped to the next one.
* He holds volume down for 2 seconds and the song is skipped to the previous one.

This behaviour should be available to any music app, not just the core one.
I find it annoying that we don't have some way to at least have a quick way to get to the music and skip to the next song.

It would be nice if some method was implemented.

Having in mind that in target countries people don't want to show their phones in public for security, this could be a very demanded feature :)

Hey Rob, there hasn't been any activity on this bug for a long time but comment 2 makes a good point. Do you know if there are plans for something like this in the future?

Not currently but definitely something to consider for future releases.
