Steps to reproduce:

Opened about:nightly.


Actual results:

A star obscured the 'o' of "keep the Web open"


Expected results:

The star (or the text) should have been in different places so as to not interact. Alternately, the star could be placed as an integral element of the text, so that it reads like "keep the Web •pen"

Hi mayankleoboy1, I'm looking at it in 23.0a1 and the star isn't overlapping. If you update Nightly again, do you still see it ?

With the latest nightly, and a fresh profile, i still see an overlap.

With HWA off , the overlap is as shown in the first screenshot.
With HWA on, the overlap is as ahown in the second screenshot.

I see the same overlap as Attachment 740733 [details] / Comment 1 in:

I used a fresh profile as well.

Still there for me; why would the rendering be different across OS's / computers?

I can reproduce this in a Windows 7 VM with Firefox 24.0a1 2013-05-31. Note that I can't reproduce this on Mac or Ubuntu but only because the dimensions of the About dialog are different on these platforms.

In fact the background image for this dialog has always looked this way (going back to Firefox Nightly 6.0a1), it's only when the dimensions or content of the dialog were changed such that text now exists in the same space of that star. I'm not sure when that change was made but it goes back to at least Firefox Nightly 15.0a1.

I personally don't see this as a bug in Firefox but is a design flaw with the About Nightly page. I don't know the right component so I'm moving this to Firefox General for now.

With the new version of Nighlty this bug has been Fixed since About UI has change. Mark this bug as FIXED

It's not technically FIXED since a patch was never landed to specifically address *this* issue. Resolving this WORKSFORME since this bug no longer exists due to a redesign.
