Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 Build ID: 20130329030352 Steps to reproduce: firefox offers no gui options for the user to bypass the restricted port message when it appears.
Hi ill, You could try adding the port you want to network.security.ports.banned.override in about:config. That option may not exist, and if not, you can create it and add the port. Here is an explanation of how to do that. http://blog.christoffer.me/post/2012-02-20-how-to-remove-firefoxs-this-address-is-restricted And more info is here, good to read through: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.security.ports.banned.override http://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/netlib/PortBanning.html Does that help solve your issue?

That does not solve the fact that firefox does not prompt the user or offer an option in the preference or other such gui option to bypass it.
