I tried to use Persona locally via a library and I was surprised to see a cryptic error regrading the scheme. After trying the same library online in the example page, I realised that I was testing locally from file://. It makes Persona unusable in some situations.
https://github.com/mozilla/browserid/issues is preferred for Persona issues.

Won't fixing as Persona requires a server component, otherwise assertions don't mean much.

As stated in Comment#1, please use github issues and dev-identity to broaden issuer to file.
