Hi all. Because my brand new phone still runs Gingerbread, (blah), I am
unable to use the stock Facebook app, because the version that came with
the phone puts everything of importance into web views. I find I am able
to mostly use Facebook in Firefox, both the Play Store version and the
nightly builds, but I am unable to post status updates or add text to a
check-in. I can find the text entry box that says "What's on your mind?"
in the mobile version of the site, and I can press the enter key. From
there, the text box is converted to a text area, but I am unable to type
in this field. Both versions of Firefox get stuck in navigation mode,
and I am unable to enter editing mode at this point. Normally, pressing
the enter key on such a field makes it editable until I arrow away from
it, but this doesn't work on Facebook with either the "What's on your
mind?" text entry or the text box for adding text to a check-in. Note
that the phone I have, (the T-Mobile MyTouch Q), has an enter key, but
is lacking a "click" key, if this makes a difference. Has anyone found a
way to enter text into these boxes, especially on a Gingerbread phone
with a hardware keyboard? Thanks for any help.
