Currently we use hoverable to show tooltips when the mount pointer is over a data point in the graph. This causes severe performance issues when there are many datapoints in a graph due to flot listening to mousemove events including bubbled events. Changing this to clickable will mean the only event that is fired is the click.

Looks good. There is a bug in the existing code that I think your patch exposes, in that it takes two plotclick/hover calls to actually display the tooltip. I'll file that separately.
