User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:20.0; Avant TriCore) Gecko/20130425 Firefox/20.0 Build ID: 20130425231005 Steps to reproduce: WikiLook worked with every version of FF, but with the new one, FF just doesn't respont. Actual results: Nothing Expected results: Open a new layer with Wikipedia-article, see https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/wikilook/
Another add-on which parses Wikipedia has the same problem, so the bug is in FF: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/quickwiki Great add-on, very useful. It was working fine for about a year that I have it. Unfortunately, after the last Firefox update to version 20.0, it stopped working correctly - opens the window and says "Looking in Wiktionary", but does not connect - just white empty window lasting forever. Hope the next update will fix it soon.
WikiLook, last update: April 7, 2011 So maybe this add-on is EOL or some API have changed since Firefox 20 and the add-on author needs to update his add-on. Did you contact the add-on author? Another possibility is a regression in Firefox 20.

Yes, I contacted the author of WikiLook but didn't get a response yet. But the bug affects also another Wikipedia Addon (QuickWiki), so I guess there is something wrong with Firefox 20.0.1

Hope the next > update will fix it soon. I tried QuickWiki 1.1.2 with Firefox 23 (see http://nightly.mozilla.org/) and it works fine. The add-on is able to load the Wiki article in a pop-up or a new tab. Could you install Nightly, create a new profile (see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles) and install QuickWiki 1.1.2 to confirm it works on your side.

Did you also try the latest WikiLook version? That add-on is a bit better https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/wikilook/ I am traveling very soon and don't have time for installing tests, but if you say that it works with Firefox 23, I just will wait for the release... thank you!

There is nothing wrong with Firefox 20. The wikilook add-on uses a functionality (E4X) which has been disabled in Firefox 20 and removed in Firefox 21. It therefore needs to be updated to work correctly again. This was no sudden change, the functionality has been deprecated since Firefox 17, which means almost 5 months before it has been disabled.
