It has been brought to my attention that it is likely SkiaGL uses multisampling for AA. This would be bad on low-end GPUs (like phones).
It looks like Skia has fancy shaders for doing this efficiently. Bas says to test this we should do a drawImage() benchmark with canvas but with the images rotated slightly so they aren't pixel aligned. If that has reasonable performance then we're probably ok.
