87019 - Mozilla should download news messages for offline use as "unread"

When news messages are downloaded from the news server for offline use, they are
all marked as read, although I am seeing them for the first time.

Reporter: I am assuming you are using a recent build?
And that these are the steps you used to replicate
the problem?

1. Already subscribed to a newsgroup
2. The newsgroup has some read and unread messages
3. You go to File|Offline|Download & Sync now
4. Select that newsgroup to download
5. Click ok in the Download & Sync window
6. Messages start getting downloaded:
    -read news messages become italic
    -New messages with bold face and the Green dot get
     converted to italic and no longer bold/green dot

In 4.x, following the same steps above: Unread messages stay bold
but are accessible while reading them offline.

New/Unread mail behaves correctly. When you download new/unread mail
it stays bold/has green dot until you read it.

Changing bug to New and adding people to cc.

Yes indeed! Those are the steps I use to download news messages. Skipping any of
the steps does not work, which was filed in as a separate bug (86818) which was
marked as a dupe of bug 84061

I dunno about the mail part, but the news download behaves exactly as you have
enumerated.

fix is just to remove this old call to MarkCurrentMsgRead - it was probably left
over from 4.x to mark a msg you're reading read, but we handle that in other
ways. Can I get reviews from Navin and Seth? thanks!

If you now download a newsgroup with some unread messages,
they stay bold/green doted until you click on the message
or mark them as read. Tested in both themes.
