RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 857922

People

(Reporter: beheer, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Build ID: 20130417085616

Steps to reproduce:

As explained here: https://support.mozilla.org/nl/questions/958143
Google web fonts are not rendered on pages that use them.
This is Firefox 20.0 on Ubuntu 13.04 with Gnome 3.8.
As explained on the support site I tried several suggestions, including:
- starting with no add-ons
- resetting Firefox
- starting from a blank profile
- downloading the tarball from the Mozilla site rather than using the Ubuntu repository
Nothing worked.
Other browsers do render the web fonts.

Example pages are http://google.com/fonts and http://carriare.nl.
This used to work in previous versions of Firefox.

Actual results:

The Google fonts are replaced by the default font.

Expected results:

The Google fonts should have been displayed.
Maybe a duplicate of bug 857922 ?

Thank you. That is very well possible. (That bug didn't show up under "similar bugs" when I looked.) Apparently this was introduced by fontconfig-2.10.92-2.fc19; I am using 2.10.92-0ubuntu1~13.04~ricotz2 from the gnome3-staging PPA, which explains why the bug appeared after upgrading to Gnome 3.8.

Marking this bug as duplicate.
