User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130511120803 Steps to reproduce: clicked the stop script button. Actual results: Firefox locked and would not respond to any instruction forcing me to restart Firefox which did not resolve the issue. I was forced to restart the computer. This happens, on average, every five minutes and is close to making me abandon Firefox. I have been a supporter of Mozilla for many years and have never had any problem of this magnitude. Is this, perhaps related to Windows XP code, or is it an internal Firefox issue? Thank you. Doc Norman kk5oz@yahoo.com Expected results: The script should have been stopped and normal function of Firefox resumed.
Marco - The original comment mentions Windows XP so I don't think this is related to Windows 8 Style Firefox. Doc - Please try to reproduce this issue in Firefox safe mode [1]. If the problem doesn't occur in safe mode, then it is being caused by an addon. - If you can find a page that always causes this issue to appear in safe mode, and you don't mind posting a link to it here, please do [1] https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Safe+Mode

Thanks for catching that Tim.
I have a very similar issue when loading this page. http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/23/justice/florida-teen-sex-case/index.html?iref=allsearch I have javascript enabled and click the above link. The splash screen for the video loads, but firefox locks up and the computer freezes. When javascript is turned off, the page loads but the video does not present the splashscreen. I am running win 7 and firefox 21.0. I am running addons adblockplus 2.2.4, donottrack 2.2.1.611, and oldbar 1.2
Darrel that sounds like a different issue. Do you mind filing a new bug for it?
so I've had enough. I removed all addons. I restarted my computer, started firefox, went to the link above with java script enabled. My computer locks up EVERY time. I am getting locked up an average of 5 times a day. Time for someone to fix this folks!
