This seems to be working fine now.

I was able to take camera photos and save both to the internal and external sdcard and view both in gallery.

I'm going to assume that this was fixed by one of the other device storage bugs (most likely bug 8782800)

Still repros on Leo 1.1 mozilla RIL. Attempting to access the camera and gallery shows the "No memory card found. Insert a memory card to take pictures" page. Also, attempting to access the Media Storage in the Settings menu will show the message "No storage found".

OK - I'll do a 1.1 build and test there.
We'll assume this bug report is valid, and leo+ in the meantime.

Naoki, can you reproduce?
Flags: needinfo?(nhirata.bugzilla)
I can't reproduce after flashing the device with the following:
leo base build: 7i
ril: AU_LINUX_GECKO_ICS_STRAWBERRY.01.01.00.019.111
gecko : fe01a25875349894a3e26d288e979dba22d4a7db
gaia : e7fd566656c3ad01fff04270b973f3e23d006c31

I think there's something odd with the releng build, we're still investigating the difference.
Flags: needinfo?(nhirata.bugzilla)
blocking-b2g: leo+ → leo?
I also just built a 1.1 build, and was able to take photos and store to both the internal and external sdcard.

I also just flashed my leo phone with the v07j image prior to flashing the 1.1 gecko/gaia onto it.
blocking-b2g: leo? → leo+
I cannot reproduce this bug with Inari on the same version:

Build ID: 20130530070208
Gecko: http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-b2g18/rev/09ac1fd2959c
Gaia: 1cca9324d4444ad28c6fa99875e17abf7e8230be
Version #: 18.0..

BTW, if Settings app also shows "No storage found", Gallery and Camera should not find the sdcard, too.

Is it possible to make a video of this bug for us??

Can you specify what you need for video that a snap shot could not capture?
Allen,

Everyone knows the screenshot looks like. But the key thing is who it happened. We had tried the STR provided by ckreinbring and didn't got the error. If he can do it on his device with video captured, that may help.
Attaching a video of the bug as performed on the Leo 1.1 mozilla RIL, the only device that the bug has been found on.

When I build a MozBuild ROM of v1.1 leo by myself from source. This problem did not happen.
This issue is still occurring on the official build using; https://pvtbuilds.mozilla.org/pvt/mozilla.org/b2gotoro/nightly/mozilla-b2g18-leo/2013/06/2013-06-12-07-02-10/

Please flash using above link and press camera, gallery, or music player.

OK - I can reproduce the problem using the image that you referenced. Wifi also doesn't seem to be working in that image either.

It appears that the backup-leo directory used to create that build is stale, and needs to be updated.

It also appears that the kernel included with that image is also stale. For example:

2102 >adb shell cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.0.21-perf-gc87a021-00003-g85b1273 (email@removed.com) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #1 PREEMPT Thu Apr 25 16:46:21 KST 2013

Using a base image that works (V08c) (i.e. this bug doesn't happen), I see:

2096 >adb shell cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.0.21-perf-g630222d (email@removed.com) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #4 PREEMPT Sat Jun 8 00:05:44 KST 2013
If both the SD card and WiFi stop working, that could be a bug in the SDIO driver.
Yeah - both work fine for me as well - if I use a recent base image V07i or V08c

But the pvt builds are using something old where sd and wifi are broken.

How are you flashing your leo phones when usiing the pvt build?

Thanks Dave. I think this is not a gaia bug. I can't help with it. De-assign myself.

As far as I can tell this is just a configuration issue (image not being flashed properly) and is caused by a mismatch between the base software on the phone and gecko.

Flash latets using what base image on the leo phone?
Which technique is being used to flash the phone?

Hi Dave,

I'll get back to you on the base image since I borrowed the device for testing and the owner isn't in yet. As for technique, I used the typical flash.sh. Should I be using a different technique?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes.

Specifically for the leo devices we should be flashing them with a recent leo image (I see v08e was just made available).

I saw some instructions posted to the internal list that suggested we should be using

https://pvtbuilds.mozilla.org/pvt/mozilla.org/b2g_ril/leo-mozilla-b2g18-20130621070212-ril01.01.00.019.133.zip

and running the fullflash_gecko_ril_gaia from inside the b2g-distro folder. For whatever reason, the pvt builds that you're linking to are using files from an old, imcompatible base image.

You can still use the gaia.zip and b2g-18.0.en-US.android-arm.tar.gz (aka gecko) from those directories, but using flash.sh will cause a bad mix of base image and new gecko.

In either case, after using ./flash.sh then phone will need to be reimaged with a recent leo base image (since running ./flash.sh essentially restores an old base image)
Does not repro on Leo 1.1 mozilla RIL. Resolving as Worksforme.

I'm not sure this should be WORKSFORME, I actually reproduced this issue yesterday evening with Vivien, on a Leo image from yesterday.

Symptoms were quite similar, and there was two issues:
 - /mnt/extsdcard missing
 - settings disable sdcard configuration when sdcard (reported as unavailable) and extsdcard missing
I'm unable to reproduce after flashing via David.
Hello,

i am using the latest geekpshone 1.1 image and this problem is happening on keon.

I would expect this to happen on a keon. The only place it has to store files is on the sdcard.

This bug was reported on a leo, which has both internal and external storage areas. So if the external storage area is removed, then gallery, etc should still be able to use the internal storage area.
