From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010622 BuildID: 2001062204 Mozilla saves tarballs to an incorrect location under certain circumstances. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://www.everybuddy.com/download.shtml 2. Click on "Source .tar.gz) (without holding down shift) 3. Select "Use a different action for this file" 4. Select "Save this file to disk" 5. Save the file to the Windows Desktop Actual Results: The file is saved to c:\windows\temp\ under a strange name with a .gz extention instead of .tar.gz . The file is not automatically opened (not that it should have been anyway). Expected Results: It should have saved the file, unchanged, to the Desktop, without changing the file extention.
Perhaps this is a dup of the "files are saved in /tmp regardless of selected directory" and "downloading .tar.gz automatically ungzips it without changing the extension", but I'll be damned if I could remember either bug numbers.
Yes, I think this is a dup of bug #69938, sorry. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 69938 ***
