User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130511120803
Steps to reproduce:
Typing with keyboard click sound turned on
Actual results:
The keyboard clicks too loud
Expected results:
- There should be a setting to adjust the keyboard click sound volume, separated from overall volume;
- Or, if everyone agree that it is indeed too loud, turn it down a little bit

I don't remember there is anything like individual keyboard click sound volume for other systems like android of iOS.
Also, we can still adjust from overall volume if you think the keyboard click sound is too loud for you. In that case, I won't consider it a bug of "keyboard clicks too loud". I will think this is a suggestion to have keyboard click sound adjuster.
However, we can definitely ask Firefox OS UX team for this :P

I am assigning this, and of course defer, to Francis, but want to note that in similar circumstances we've recommended that the associated volume should follow the user's current volume setting.

Stephany, I agree with you.
However, besides a separate click sound volume adjuster, I think maybe UX can still do some design like:
1. lower down the click sound volume so that it won't be so loud in the very beginning.
2. have some other sounds to select from.
3. change the default click sound to other sounds

Sorry, I can't reproduce the problem in this version. I can adjust keyboard click volume by volume hardware key. Has the problem been resolved ?

Hi, Neo, I think the issue was that Risman Rangga Pratama thought keyboard click sound is too loud. However, he wants something to control keyboard click sound. He don't want to adjust the overall sound.

OK... I just try that again. I don't think that is too loud to let me feel bad, When I adjust to middle level.
But my question is "How to define the sound is loud or not ?" Maybe for some DB value ?

I also think the default click sound is too loud. My phone is set to a reasonable overall volume for its ringer and the click sound feels too loud relative to that. I don't think I should need to drop my volume before I start typing an email and then have to remember to turn it back up so I can hear my ringer. We have separate software volume controls for Media, Dialer, and Alarm. Perhaps a software control for the Click sound would be nice too. Alternatively, something that's about 75% the current volume would be a nice improvement. Then again, I'm just one dude and we could probably get some better inputs than "a couple of people on the Web" in terms of finding a good level.

For current master, there are 3 issues:
1) Keyboard click sound goes to Normal channel: It should be System (Ringer & Notification) channel.
2) The current Keyboard click sound itself is still too loud: I think it could be 75% or 50% volume lower down, but still ni? Patryk to help evaluate it.
3) An individual volume slider for Keyboard click sound: I don't think so, but still ni? Jenny to confirm it.

I don't think it's necessary to have an individual volume slider for keyboard as it will require another audio channel and increase the implementation complexity. What we can do here is tone down the max volume for keyboard so that the clicking sound can be subtle and acceptable. Thanks!

Comment 9, #2
Its a bit loud when played at 100% volume, maybe we should have a slider for system sounds especially for the hearing impaired? Most sounds should be set to play at 50% of the volume by default anyway. So if we don't have a slider for system please play it at 50% volume.
