If you have the Style Editor open and you change a rule in the Style Inspector, the rule should be updated in the Style Editor.
Definitely. The other way around should also work: editing styles in the style editor should synchronize to the style inspector.
I have worked on this during the Feb. 2014 devtools work week so I have a set of patches for this. It works but it's ugly, so it will need some rework. Also, even if not mandatory, I feel like the first step to do before that is to add support for authored styles in the style inspector. See bug 984880.

Inspector -> editor was solved by bug 984880; though see bug 947119 for another case that isn't handled. The other direction was partly solved but see bug 922146 for the leftovers. I'm closing this as a dup given that the main parts are fixed and that there are bugs open for the remaining issues.
