I am experiencing an issue similar to this. In my case, the message is never sent to the recipient at all and the sending throbber never disappears. After a very long time, I get the message saying: "Service currently unavailable - Message will automatically be sent once service is available." I have never been able to send an SMS with an attachment (an MMS) at all. First I thought it might be a SIM issue as in MMS was not activated or included for that particular SIM I was using for testing. But I verified that its not the case. I have been seeing this on 1.1. The icon does not appear in your screen shots. Settings > Cellular & Data > Data Connection (turn on)

My bad. Thanks Rick. I have been stuck on this for a long time. Clearly I have no idea about how to send an MMS. Works for me.
