Details

Under X11, using IceWM with click-to-focus (I suspect this happens under all WMs, but only affects those with click-to-focus on), Mozilla will steal focus whenever a page finishes loading. This behaviour is at its worst in 2001062608, where it steals focus 100% of the time. Example: I load a site like K5 which takes a while to completely download. I open a second window which dfinishes faster. The moment the K5 one finishes (stop throbber, mark Document: Done), it will steal focus. It will also steal focus if I've focuse another window, or drag me across desktops. The Bug 46988 people say that their bug is not appropriate (they are working on the windows version of this problem). I suspect there are some calls in the interface XUL or in the base library which ask for focus too much, but I don't have the time to find it.
