I still cannot use N6.1 PR1 to do productive work.

The mail search performance with POP3 is simply still too slow for normal user
to use.

I have one macdev mailbox which have 208 messages. It take 10 second to find all
mail send by pinkerton.

In my Inbox which have 5900 message, it spend 2 minutes to find all message from
nhotta. The same task in 4.x take less than 5 second.

When I try to compose my status report with N6.1 PR1, I cannot find all the
status report since it will take more than 2 minutes to serach for subject
contains "status" in my mailbox.

I searched for "bug" on my >1000 mailbox and i found 52 mails in under 2
seconds, and i am using linux without my via drivers etc. Using 0.9.2
Is this a dup of bug 85029 ?
depends on 94602 ... which has just been fixed

A recent trunk build still takes several minutes to search a POP mailbox of a
few thousand messages on a 500MHz Mac G3, MacOS 9.2.1. (Worse, the search
doesn't even find things -- bug 92219).
I have THREE messages in my pop inbox, and it takes a second for mozmail to
update the results list after I add or remove a character from the search
phrase.
I get 1min to fetch about 300 messages in 3 local network pop server an 1
outside, worst : during the fetching, mozilla browser is hanging !

suspect this can be closed. Search response is instaneous for me (broadband) No one has responded that this is still a problem. Plus bug is untouched since 2003 (except for the dup, which isn't even documented as being a pop issue)
I don't see any performance problems on my machine (A64@1.4GHz, 512MB RAM), using SeaMonkey 1.0b. Even searches in ~20000 Mails with a few thousands hits are performed in 3-4 seconds.
marking WFM per comment 10. (aqualon, thanks for the test)

I guess bug 295088 should have been marked as a dup of this. Anyway, the fix was committed 2005/10/20.
