Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 SeaMonkey/2.17.1 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130410205058

Steps to reproduce:

Created an RSS feed with & (html & code).

The & character itself breaks the feed and breaks the rss validation hence the code use.

Actual results:

Live bookmarks do not display the & character or the news title with it in.

Expected results:

It should display the title with the & character.
To be clear, you're speak of the Feed name itself, rather then article subject names that appear in the Feed?

Have a URL where this occurs?
Never confirmed by a second user, no response to comment 1, so I close this one for now.

@Reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you still can reproduce the problem with a current SeaMonkey version and a current OS and if you can contribute a step by step instruction due to <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines> (containing every key press and every mouse click) how to reproduce the problem reliably.

Re-opening...

Sorry didn't get chance to reply to previous comment... medical complications.

Right if you have a & character in the RSS feed (php generated or other) Seamonkey will stop parsing / displaying MENU items if you use the live bookmarks feature and have the RSS items show on the bookmarks menu.

If you then replace the & with & instead it still fails to work properly.

This is for the BOOKMARKS MENU ONLY... if you look at the RSS feed as a normal html page then it works fine and displays it like normal HTML.

Sorry I don't have RSS feed at this present time to show you with.. but easy enough to reproduce - just setup an RSS feed and use the & and then & in the subject for each item and add the feed to your life bookmarks.

@reporter:
Without bug report due to guidelines, possibility to reproduce and some more information ("FF does the job", ...) nobody will care.
