When opening the website http://www.bahn.de FF crashes randomly. Sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few seconds. Only happens at this site for me, while others might be affected as well.
As suggested in this thread http://www.camp-firefox.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=102873 (German language only) when turning hardware acceleration off, the site is stable.
According to the aforementioned forum entry its a Firefox <-> AMD problem, since only AMD graphics cards seem affected. Possibly even only Radeon HD 7 Series cards.
The issue has been present since at least FF19 and only occurs on Windows for me. FF on Linux is stable.

There's no Firefox component in the stack trace so it's a driver bug.
Please update your graphics driver: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
The only fix from the Firefox side would be to blocklist version 9.12.0.0 (see https://wiki.mozilla.org/Blocklisting/Blocked_Graphics_Drivers) but with only 122 crashes in Firefox 21.0 it's too low to do that.

Still crashes with Firefox 29 and I have the latest AMD drivers for my Radeon HD 7850. ONLY Firefox crashes, and ONLY on this one website (AFAICS).

Confirming this bug in Firefox 29.0.1 on Windows 7 x64 with a Radeon HD 7790 and all official Catalyst versions from 13.4 (first one to support the Radeon HD 7790) to 14.4 (current, as of today). So platform, version and summary should probably get updated to reflect the broader count of affected systems.
bahn.de is ranked #45 on Alexa for German users [1] and Radeon HD 7xxx cards are quite common, so this bug probably affects many users from Germany.

Confirming the bug with a Radeon HD 7950 with Catalyst Version 14.4 (and prior).
The crash occurs only on bahn.de, did not experience it on any other site. The crash does not occur with other browsers.
The crash does not occur on the "mobile" version at http://www.bahn.de/m/view/de/index.shtml
Confirming this bug with Windows 7 x64, AMD HD7870 and Catalyst 14.9 (and prior).
The crash occurs randomly on bahn.de and is extremly nerving, because I cant finish my ticket shopping. I have sent a looooot crash reports. You (Mozilla Corp) should know about it pretty well.
Still present on HD 7950 Catalyst 14.9.
Mozilla Foundation, how can specific code crash YOUR browser and you just point at the driver? This page is not crashing in Chrome or Internet Explorer.
I find it hilarious that the status is still UNCONFIRMED.
Are you, Mozilla, basically saying "well, pray to your graphics driver to patch, which will propably never happen, so **** off^W^Wdon't use this site?"

True, I just tried this page in internet explorer. No issue occured. Same grafic card, same driver. This issue is attached to browser...
Same here. While bahn.de made no problems for many years it now crashes immediately since I am using a new graphics card with Catalyst. Other browsers (IE, Chrome) are not affected. Well, I am using bahn.de daily...

Do you have a link to one of your crash reports?

I just tried bahn.de, for 5 minutes creating searches, starting the booking process, more searching. It did not crash, back when I said "me too" it would have crashed by now. I'm running ATI driver Catalyst 14.4, "Driver Packaging Version" is 14.10.1006-140417a-171099C

Still crashing.
Firefox 36.0.4 with version 14.12 of now-called "AMD Catalyst Omega Software", "Driver Packaging Version" 14.501.1003-141120a-177998C.
Crashing without any browser extensions, also with a just-created clean profile.

Any difference if you set gfx.direct2d.use1_1 preference to false?

After a quick 5 minute try, seems to be working for me.

I cannot confirm, that setting gfx.direct2d.use1_1 to false makes a difference. Still got three crashes within minutes with enabled hardware acceleration. So I guess the change in the bug summary should be reverted.
Crashes seem to be easier to reproduce on https://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/dn?protocol=https:, just search for a connection between eg. Berlin and Hamburg, choose one from the results, display intermediate halts, scroll a bit, try to book the connection. In most(!) cases, it crashes before I can finish the booking, often even before clicking the booking link.
Radeon HD 7790, Firefox 38.0.1 on Windows 7 x64 with current AMD Catalyst Omega 14.12 (14.501.1003-141120a-177998C)

I currently cannot trigger the crash anymore, regardless of gfx.direct2d.use1_1 false or true.
Current driver version is 14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega, Fx version is 38.0.1. I have no idea why the bug does not occur anymore.

Unassigning considering non D2D 1.1 and a very old bug.

Resolving as incomplete given the above comments. Additionally, we've only seen one crash reported in a currently supported Firefox version; that crash is using a driver that is 5 years old while a current update exists. Please reopen this bug report if this is reproducible in the latest Firefox version with current graphics drivers.
