Please try on a new, empty profile:

Strange way to solve a problem since it is obvious that some change in Firefox 22 makes this happen which might be related to a add-on or something like that, while the Beta 23.0b1 works as perfect as version 22 should, so something has obviously been changed after version 22.

Hi Arne,
You're right, probably an add-on caused your problem and that is not Firefox's fault. There are thousands of addons, it is the responsibility of the authors to fix them if they start causing problems.
You could try to install/disable your add-ons one by one to find the culprit and then send a notification to the author.

Hi!
It seems to be a problem with language packs, that is, I started a new profile, used Mozbackup to restore everything from my original profile except extensions.
Then I copied the extensions folder into this new profile folder and when I started FF, I was asked to install every extension etc. one at the time and restarted FF between everyone that needed that.
It went well for a long time, but suddenly, after allowing several language packs to install without restart, the next extension that demanded a restart, FF failed.
I then deleted the profile, created a new one and installed only the extension that failed, but this time it went well.
So I repeated what I did above with restore using Moxbackup, however this time I activated a lot of extensons in my extension tab, did a restart and continued until everything was installed and I still did not fail. Going through the various tabs on the left side inside the Extension Tab, I noticed that only language packs was not activated. These are:
English (US) Language Pack 21.0
Norsk Bokmål (NO) Language Pack 22.0
Norsk Nynorsk (NO) Language Pack 22.0
Svenska (SE) Language Pack 22.0
Not that I can prove it, but I thunk the US Language pack could be the culprit since it is version 21.0
I really don't know the difference of using language packs and the dictionaries in FF, but since dictionaries does the work I need (spell checking), I can live without the Language packs.

Language packs change the language of the UI - you could use instead the localized Firefox builds ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/22.0/win32/
The advantage of language packs is that you can have more than one and switch between them.
Dictionaries are used only for spell checking, no changes in the UI.

Hi!
Any way to remove these language packs from a corrupt Firefox without having to downgrade to a version on which they work and then remove them and then upgrade again?

Firefox Menu/Tools/Addons/Languages/Remove

But Firefox will not start, so that is not an option

Then start with a new profile (comment 1) and install only the other addons you like.

the_dancer: Did you manage to isolate the problematic language pack by removing them under a new profile? Is this still a problem?
