* Need a simple set of steps on how to get your teaching kit to appear on webmaker.org/teach
* LAURA: let's start a draft for this here: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/teaching-kit-documentation
* next steps: 1) test Laura's steps. 2) publish as Webmaker blog post 3) look to publish in other spaces / site pages.

Documentation for getting makes on /teach (NOT featured, just categorized in that section!) added to that etherpad.
For "how to get featured", we need to have a bigger discussion.
ASAP we should post those steps to G+ and tweet the link to the post. But first, could you all find an old thimble project you made and try them out. Double check my steps? Thanks!

Just had a look at the documentation. Here my remarks:
I already managed to add the Firefox OS kits to /teach yesterday, so this certainly works.
> Note: please make sure your title is unique, otherwise you'll save over things.
Actually, currently this is giving an error:
>Sorry, an error occurred while trying to publish. You already have a page titled "firefox-os-app-activity-sheet" (you will have to change the text in the <title> element on your page)
therefore it is not possible to overwrite something.
> On your personal Webmaker domain. Go to "jane.makes.org" to see a complete gallery of all your projects.
mkohler.makes.org gives me a white page, is this feature implemented yet?

Laura: can you confirm? Has this already been fixed?

Laura: do you know?
https://webmaker.org/me works for logged in users
but foo.makes.org does not currently work -- is that correct?

If you create a NEW thimble document and try to give it a title that you already have a make associated under, it will shoot the above error. If you OPEN a make, edit and publish it will overwrite the previous version.

Correct. foo.makes.org doesn't yet work, the bug is filed here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=885707
and you can reveal makes of a specific user through search: https://webmaker.org/search?type=user&q=USERNAME

I updated this to include all the metatags I've been using for /teach stuff. This will make it easier to filter specific types of OERs later, but you should definitely give it a read:

* Great! Laura, I will treat this as ready to ship. Will draft this as a blog post on Webmaker blog today, unless I hear otherwise from you.

QUESTION: how do you get *Popcorn* projects added to /teach?
* Is there a process for that? Or is it currently only set up for Thimble projects?

* DRAFT IS NOW COMPLETE HERE:

* Brett: do you want to take a quick look before I publish to Webmaker blog?

* We want to publish this this morning. There's some time sensitivity for the MOOC.
* Brett or David: can you review to make sure what we're telling people to do is sound from a technical perspective?

A few copy suggestions:
Open your project with your unique Thimble URL.
Add “/remix” to the end of the URL. This will open up the editing page, so you can make changes.
Sign in. Click "Sign in to save" and login with your Persona account.
Set up your webmaker domain. If you haven’t yet set up your unique subdomain–like "jane.makes.org"– you’ll be prompted to do so. This will become the home for everything you make on Webmaker, and will make it easy for you to collect, share and edit all your stuff. Cool, huh?
Give your project a title. Enter it between the <title> and </title> tags.
Tag your project. Adding the right meta-tag to your project’s HTML will make it appear on the /teach section of webmaker.org. You want to tag it as a “guide.”
One question - would they all be considered "guides" or do we want to give other options, like "template?" Or is guide the word that tells us something belongs on the /teach page?

* At Brett's suggestion, I moved this to the wiki here:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Webmaker/Mentor_HOWTO
* I missed some of where we landed in today's IRC chat about this.
* Product team: is this documentation now accurate, and if not, can you edit / update the wiki to make it so? Laura is hoping to share this with our MOOC community on Tuesday.
* Thanks for all your help with this guys! We've had a lot of good success with MOOC members creating teaching kits with our tools -- so it's great to have this workflow available to them, even if it is interim.

@ Lainie thanks for the edits! Made them
* to answer your question: my understanding is that meta-tagging something "guide" tells us that it belongs on the /teach page, yes. (someone please correct me if wrong -- trying to understand how all the meta-tagging works.)
* there are other relevant meta-tags as well, listed by Laura here:
https://etherpad.mozilla.org/teaching-kit-documentation-metatags
* but I think we want to err on the side of keeping it simple for users for the time being.

Hey Matt -
Talked to Brett and Cassie and there are concerns about publishing this documentation at all. From what I understand, the Product team will be implementing changes very soon that will make this documentation irrelevant. Not sure when or what, so I'm adding Brett.
Perhaps we can address this in tomorrow's meeting?

* Ok, makes sense. Let's address in Wed's meeting. Thanks Laura!

Good call.
fwiw I think we should do this in a wiki for now, to address the current state of how you tag a guide, but not as a blog post, simply because the former is meant to be updated as platform evolves, will later feels more like an official communication. I could be overly didactic :P
