User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130625125232
Steps to reproduce:
1. Make firefox fullscreen on hd screen
2. Open new tab and go to https://www.google.com/maps/preview (Have to have new google maps preview enabled on google account)
3. Try to move around map view with left click + mouse moves. Frame rate is veery poor
4. Go to "Firefox" menu and select "Web developer" -> toggle tools
5. Now frame rate is surprisingly much better
6 Close developer tools and frame rate is still much better
Actual results:
Frame rate of new google maps increased significantly after opening developer tools
Expected results:
Better berformance should not require opening developer tools window :)

Ok, forget about "very poor" frame rate. The point is, that showing and hiding developer tools makes performance significantly better for some reason.

I confirm this, but I think it would be better to wait a stable release for the new google maps.

Is the "New Google Maps Preview" really using WebGL? Thought that Idea has been abandoned by Google, no?
