Details

When Mozilla first starts, it consumes about 1-6% of the CPU when completely idle on a 500 MHz G4. Once I click on the location bar and hit the delete key to clear the field, Mozilla's CPU usage jumps to 90% and stays there. If I type in a URL such as slashdot.org and let it sit, the CPU stays pegged at 90%. When I go back to www.google.com (which is my default home page) and let it sit idle, the CPU still sits at 90%. Unfortunately on my PowerBook G4, this causes the fan to go on and generate terrible noise (damn fans) making Mozilla unsuitable for round the clock usage.
Sounds like bug 67409, no? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 67409 ***
