Details
(Whiteboard: [table])
1. Insert a table say 3 row 2 column 2. Go to cell (1,1) (Column, Row) 3. use menu to Select Column 4. Copy 5. Go to cell (2,1) 6. use menu to "INSERT COLUMN AFTER" 7. go to cell (3,1) on the new column 8. Paste Actual Result: The cells copied are pasted horizontally. Expected Result The cells content should paste vertically as column Generally, I expect what user copy in table can be paste in the same "shape and size". e.g. in a 5x5 table, if I selecct vertically 3 cells, I can copy and paste in other 6x6 table as 3 cell vertically

Joe and I will work out these issues in next version. We are not sure we will ever retain original row/column structure when copying, but we will offer options for how to paste cell data as rows, columns, embeded table, etc. (bug 41547)

It is strange that if I use "Table->Select Table" Copy & Paste will paste as cell in one row If I select using Mouse Drag, it can copy and paste the table in the same form.
