Presuming may be the pulsetranslator service causing issues again; solution perhaps same as bug 879257 comment 14.

Any chance I can get access to that box so I can resolve things like this in the future myself?

Yes, feel free.  The box is pulsetranslator.ateam.phx1.mozilla.com.  You can stop/start the pulsetranslator using:

sudo /etc/init.d/pulsetranslator stop
sudo /etc/init.d/pulsetranslator start

with both new and old VPN's.  Ed, it's possible you don't belong to some relevant VPN LDAP group; can you file a bug for that?

I think jgriffin has restarted the pulsetranslator now - thank you anyway :-)
