In https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=834613#c15, Christopher Smith suggested adding a privacy setting to disable auto-complete of form fields on Android. Thoughts?
Couple of questions/comments: 1. What would the use case be for disabling it? 2. I'm not convinced we want this all the way up in Settings. It may make more sense as a pref in about:config, since I imagine that users that are advanced enough to know they don't want this are also advanced enough to mess around in about:config.
I simply mentioned that while form autocomplete is especially useful on mobile, for those who prefer not to have form items saved, there's no equivalent to the desktop "Remember search and form history" option. They can be cleared manually, but there's no option to turn off collection entirely.
There probably already is an about:config pref you could toggle to disable form history, since the code we use for that is shared with desktop. Dolske, do you know what pref someone would need to flip here?

browser.formfill.enable is what satchel uses, it controls both the saving and filling.

Thanks, Dolske! So, unless ibarlow thinks we should surface this as a user-visible pref, there's nothing to do here. It would even be really easy to make a simple add-on to flip this pref for users who don't want to go into about:config.

No, I do not think this should be in Settings > It would even be really easy to make a simple > add-on to flip this pref for users who don't want to go into about:config. Awesome.
Marking this INVALID, since the pref technically *does* exist, we just don't want to take further action to expose this to users.
