Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130711122148 Steps to reproduce: Choose Youtube in Search Bar. Type SMH in Location Bar. Actual results: Searches Youtube for SMH. Expected results: A search in the Location Bar should yield different results from a search in the Search Bar. It should help with URL typos, and default the search to Google (or some other search engine if you're that way inclined), but not Youtube, Wikipedia, The Pirate Bay, IMDB, etc. Otherwise what's the point of having a Search Bar at all. Might as well make it a drop down menu. Which would be a massive backward step in usability. Having two search bars: one Google, the other your Search Bar selection is massively useful. As in something many of us use several times an hour. The current implementation means having to constantly revert the Search Bar choice. It's annoying, and completely unhelpful.
