Steps to reproduce:
I've installed Lightning for Postbox. I need a way to sync my calendar and tasks with my iphone, ipad and other macs. Without this capability, Lightning is of little use to me. Syncing with iCal, iCloud, DropBox and Toodledo would solve this problem.

I don't understand the purpose of this report. Lightning already supports CalDAV that allows to connect to iCloud or any other CalDAV server. Lightning already supports the iCalendar format that allows to access iCal or any other server that provides the calendar as an iCalendar file. Lightning already supports reading the calendar file from local disc, e.g. from your Dropbox folder.
Please keep in mind that Lightning supports only Thunderbird and SeaMonkey. The Postbox developers provide their own custom Lightning builds for Postbox. If you have problems with that build contact the Postbox developers or try to reproduce the problem using Thunderbird.
