(Whiteboard: [TESTCASE] table reflow problem after receiving a:hover event)
Attachments
(2 files)
System:
Kernel: 2.2.5-15
Mozilla build: June 21
glib: 1.2.2
gtk+: 1.2.2
libIDL: 0.6.5
Steps to reproduce:
0) Load Mozilla (Viewer)
1) Go to www.free-search.com/screensavers.html
2) There is a table in the middle of the page, with
a link in each of the table's six cells. Roll the mouse
over any of those links.
Result:
The right 60% or so of the page disappears. Depending on
window size, there should be a letter or two of the left-side
links still visible, and those links work. But everything to
their right is simply gone. On mouseover the cursor no longer
changes, clicking where the links had been has no effect, etc.
This works correctly on NS 4.51 and IE5.0.

The original URL has some very curious HTML (in fact, I had some odd
problems in loading it with 4.6 win95).
However, the two attachments are well-formed. The first preserves the
original table structure of the original URL but eliminates most of
the extraneous elements. The second brings it down to (one) simple
case. (However, I can't be sure that the second attachment covers all
factors that cause the reflow problem).
This smells like bug 7446, which is closely related to 7522 in that they all
are triggered by tables reflowing.

The original problem has been fixed possibly due to reflow and layout changes in
the table code over the last week. However, on the original url, mousing over
the links "home", "screen saver", etc. is extremely slow and bug 11355 addresses
that.
